HUMAN RIGHTS


The Southside Community Services Board has established, maintains and promotes the development of mental health, mental retardation and substance abuse services in the counties of Brunswick, Halifax, and Mecklenburg.

It is the philosophy of the Board that services provided to consumers must be individualized, made confidential and offered in the most normalized and least restrictive setting.

Services are to be delivered without discrimination in a professional and humane manner employing the most effective and cost efficient treatment modalities.

The purpose of Board services shall be to address the mental health, mental retardation and substance abuse problems and needs of residents in the catchment area and to treat the specific needs of consumers and their families with an overall goal of promoting their stability and well-being.
