Southside Community Services Board (SCSB) seeks qualified individual in its Mental Health Services Division to provide services in Mecklenburg/Brunswick Counties (position based in Lawrenceville, VA).  Provides direct therapeutic crisis intervention to children, adolescents and families; performs individual/family therapy, outpatient clinical assessments and training in behavior modification; coordinates services and completes documentation to meet all regulatory requirements.  Provides immediate in-person response to identified intervention needs of adolescents/youths in home environment. Must be available during normal Board operating hours, as well as some evenings and weekends.

PSYCHIATRIST

Southside Community Services Board (SCSB) in South Boston, VA seeks full-time psychiatrist to provide diagnostic and treatment services in a community mental health outpatient medical director clinic setting serving adults and children MH/MR/SA population.  Incumbent will work with a team of professionals to meet the needs of clients.  He/she will be responsible for clinical evaluations to determine current mental status and medication needs; prescribes medication and follow-up; complete formal written documentation and dictation of medical treatment progress notes.  Regular office hours 8:30 - 5:00, Mondays through Fridays.  Must be a graduate of an accredited medical school, licensed to practice medicine in Virginia, and Board certified or board eligible in psychiatry.  Competitive salary and excellent fringe benefits.

LEAD MENTAL HEALTH THERAPIST

Southside Community Services Board (SCSB) seeks lead clinician for its Mecklenburg Behavioral Health Center, Boydton, Virginia, to provide individual and group therapy to seriously mentally ill consumers.  Incumbent performs assessments, determines diagnoses and appropriate treatment.  Provides/coordinates emergency services in provision of pre-screenings and implementation of psychiatric hospitalization; consults with psychiatrist; makes referrals to residential placements; supervises subordinate therapists and coordinates/utilizes community resources.  Ensures case documentation/records meet clinical standards and state licensure and Medicaid regulations.

MENTAL RETARDATION SERVICES SUPERVISOR

Southside Community Services Board (SCSB) seeks a senior level manager to direct its mental retardation (MR) program operations within the catchment area of Halifax, Brunswick and Mecklenburg Counties, Virginia.  Incumbent reports directly to the executive director.

Major position responsibilities include the supervision and administration of a comprehensive MR service delivery system of programs encompassing day support, residential, case management, developmental training, infant intervention/development, emphasizing MR program planning, implementation and evaluation, operational standards/licensure compliance, needs assessment, interagency coordination, medicaid state plan option, medicaid waiver requirements, quality assurance, development of client training curriculum and staff supervision. 

An advanced degree and work experience related to the management of MR services delivery program operations required; previous work experience with the Commonwealth of Virginia's medicaid reimbursement requirements preferred.

MENTAL HEALTH/CRISIS STABILIZATION THERAPIST

Qualified individual needed by Southside Community Services Board (SCSB) for its Mental Health Services Division, to be based at its Mecklenburg Behavioral Health Center in Boydton, Virginia.  Responsibilities: Provides individual and group therapy to mentally ill consumers; performs assessments, determines diagnosis and appropriate treatment modality.  Also serves as clinician for crisis stabilization of individuals who have been pre-screened and determined to not meet the criteria for admission to a psychiatric hospital but need intensive services to remain in the community.  These services include, but are not limited to, providing face-to-face and telephone crisis intervention, diagnostic assessment to determine treatment needs, and individual/family counseling.  Receives/makes referrals and coordinates service planning; develops individual service plans; and seeks emergency custody orders as needed.  Maintains accurate and timely documentation and report preparation to ensure services meet state licensing and evaluation standards.

Masters degree in social work or related field required with at least one year clinical experience providing direct mental health services.  Prefer experience in an outpatient setting. Must have documented crisis intervention experience and comprehensive knowledge of crisis intervention techniques for seriously mentally ill individuals and public relation skills as successful candidate must provide services interfacing with law enforcement agencies and hospital emergency staff.  Must maintain strict confidentiality and possess valid driver's license with safe driving record.  Criminal history check (fingerprinting) and drug screening required.

Southside Community Services Board (SCSB) seeks qualified individual to provide counseling services at its Halifax Behavioral Health Center in South Boston, Virginia for individuals who are chemically-addicted.  Incumbent provides substance abuse (SA) outpatient services to designated population encompassing intensive and supportive individual, group and family therapy/counseling, client assessment/evaluation, service delivery planning, intervention, and local community education services.  Arranges inpatient hospitalization/detoxification and long-range treatment, providing variety of  follow-up services.  Receives referrals and commences services, either routinely or on emergency/crises basis.  Maintains active caseload and ensures client records are in compliance with all required licensing regulations.
